Valterra Platinum Mine is inviting applications for its Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 – Unemployed) for 2026. This learnership provides unemployed South African youth with practical workplace experience, technical training, and exposure to the mining and engineering industry.

Minimum Entry Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Matric / Grade 12
- Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) – minimum 40%
- Physical Science – minimum 40%
- English – minimum 40%
N3 or Higher (Relevant Trade Subjects)
- Boilermaker: Plating/Welders Theory, Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings
- Electrician: Electrical Trade Theory, Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings
- Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory, Engineering Drawings
- Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings
- Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
- Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics
- Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories, Engineering Drawings, or Industrial Electronics
NCV Level 4
- NCV Level 4 qualification in the relevant trade with a minimum of 40% pass in all subjects
