About the Role
General Workers at Cashbuild play an important role in the daily operations of the store. You will help customers, assist with stock, maintain store cleanliness, and support the sales team. The role is suited for people who enjoy physical work and take pride in good customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting customers on the sales floor
- Loading and offloading stock and building materials
- Packing shelves and maintaining stock displays
- Keeping the store clean, organised, and safe
- Carrying out general housekeeping duties
- Operating equipment under supervision (e.g., trolleys, ladders)
- Supporting store staff with daily tasks
- Following all safety procedures
- Helping customers carry purchases when required
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following basic criteria:
- Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12 (Matric not always required)
- Must be willing to work retail hours (weekends, holidays, shifts)
- Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy items
- Ability to communicate clearly and work well with customers
- Honest, reliable, and hardworking
- South African citizen or valid work permit
