Job Description
The Eskom YES Learnership Programme offers unemployed youth a life-changing first work experience within the energy industry. Participants will be placed in Eskom operations, where they will gain real-world exposure, develop workplace skills, and improve their employability.
The programme is specifically designed to support young people who are passionate, driven, and ready to contribute positively to South Africa’s economy.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Eskom YES Learnerships 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must be between the ages of 18 and 34
- Must have Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification
- Applicants with a post-matric certificate, programme, or N3 Electrical Engineering qualification will have an added advantage
Selection Criteria
Applicants must also meet the following selection conditions:
- Must not have been permanently employed with a single employer for more than 12 consecutive months
- Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
- Must not have previously participated or registered in the YES Initiative
- Applicants will undergo a recruitment and selection process
- Successful candidates will be placed in Eskom Operations in KwaZulu-Natal
