Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizen with valid ID.
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate required; must include Mathematics and Physical Science (or Engineering Science) as core subjects.
- Technical qualification: N2/N3 level (or NCV Level 4) in Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or related trade will be advantageous.
- Age: Typically up to 30–35 years (depending on the specific advert).
- Must be medically fit and able to perform physical work in an engineering/industrial environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime and operate in manufacturing/maintenance settings.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance, repair and installation of mechanical and electrical equipment in sugar-manufacturing facilities.
- Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance programmes under supervision.
- Learn to diagnose faults, replace components, carry out inspections and support engineering teams.
- Adhere to all safety, health, environmental and quality standards required in an industrial food-manufacturing environment.
- Attend institutionalised training periodically; apply learning in the workplace; prepare for trade-test or final qualification.
